Mr & Mrs Lowe – Skendleby Hall, Lincolnshire

Saturday 17th December 2016

We were overjoyed to have received the booking from Ellie & Angus particularly when we saw it was a December wedding as is there anything better than teaming the joyous time of Christmas with a wedding?! It also meant that Angus’ sister and guests had been happy with our services after we had worked on her wedding, also at Skendleby Hall in 2015 which was lovely to know.

Set in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds surrounded by rolling countryside, Skendleby Hall is a Grade II listed hidden gem and also owned by Angus’ parents.

Which meant Ellie & Angus really did have that homely wedding, with free-reign over their venue which is a real treat within the wedding industry and being avid skiers, were able to transform this gorgeous country house into a skiers dream like we had never seen before.

After a touching ceremony held in the drawing room within which Ellie (Eleanor) made her way down the aisle to ‘The Turtles – Elenore’ which couldn’t have been more fitting, guests were treated to arrival drinks of prosecco and mulled wine combined with canapes of haggis bon bons which kept in line with the family’s Scottish heritage, before tucking into a three course meal featuring braised Lincolnshire beef.

They then raised the roof off Skendleby with their fantastic Ceilidh band partying well into the night, but what must be said about their beautiful day was, it was so personal to them featuring subtle touches throughout the day to really reflect them both as a couple which was just lovely. Even a stranger could see that their day was so light-hearted, playful and full of overwhelming warmth.
